Match report:

The East won the toss and decided to bat. When the sun shone it was very pleasant, however when the wind blew it was cold. Andy Fairburn looked more like an arctic explorer than a cricket coach! Rice and Penberthy opened for the east. Rice out in the third over, Penberthy in the tenth. Loud out scoring 15 in the ninth. Dart and Hancock, got the East back on track, Dart scoring 39 and Hancock 11. 3 wickets fell around the halfway mark, enter Wells and Thompson. Wells scoring 43 and Thompson 30, Popham cleaning up the tail in over 46, East posting 197. The North opened with May and Stacey, Stacey being bowled in the fourth over. When May got caught in the deep by Rice's flying catch, the game seemed to be heading for a quick conclusion, 33 for 2 in the ninth over. Enter Cherington, with a match winning innings of 89. 2 quick wickets and then Popham 29 and Heard 14 saw the North home in the 48th over. Thanks to Lynton and Lynmouth Cricket club, the umpires, scores and tea ladies.
